Dr. Kennedy Garcia - Top 15
1.Tell us a funny story about a date night out with your husband.
There is this one time my husband and I went out on a date to the Ritz Carlton and he decided to try goat cheese for the very first time. It did not agree with him! Let’s just say, I'm the one who had to deal with the repercussions on the way home.
2.What are the (2) most important things in your kitchen and why?
The oversized island of the kitchen as it’s where our family gathers to discuss each day, where I perfect secret recipes and where the dessert bar for our annual Christmas party is put on display. Second is the Air-Fryer. It allows us to make healthy food quickly and as a busy family focused on saving time in the kitchen without compromising health, it will go down in history as the best household appliance ever invented.
3.What do people assume about you that isn’t true?
That everything I do is about creating a legacy for myself when in actuality, I don’t care if people remember my name at all. I want them to remember the God inside me and experience the beauty that comes from living life with Him at the center. I am honored to be impacting lives through my mentorship, podcasts, teaching, ministry, technology, speaking engagements and everyday encounters but it is all for His glory, not mine.
4.Tell us a time you demonstrated leadership skills.
Leaders are emotional intelligent people who serve, listen, collaborate, demonstrate knowledge, stretch others to meet their full potential and inspire with action. I do this everyday as an Executive at a $73B healthcare organization and through The Dream Academy where I listen to our youth, equip them to shatter ceilings, collaborate with organizations to remove barriers and inspire by creating solutions like the REIGN app, which I recently developed to cultivate leadership capabilities for females.
5.If you had no fear, what would you try?
To me, there is nothing more amazing than seeing someone give their life to Jesus. As a disciple, we are called to bring light to dark places. Without my fear of temporarily surrendering my freedom and potentially my safety, I would participate in Prison Ministry. Being raised by a career law enforcement officer I have heard horror stories about criminals which scare me yet, I know God believes they too are worthy of being saved.
