1.Tell us why anyone would want come to your hometown?
“Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”, Matthew 7:12. I can still hear my kindergarten teacher’s voice, and realizing how profound this statement was. It was then I knew I needed to lead a life of kindness and service at the forefront. From park clean ups with Girl Scouts, to sponsoring education in South Africa, and inspiring others to lead a healthier life today, it’s always done with kindness and purpose.

2.What are the (2) most important things in your closet and why?
Possibilities are endless. My grandparents immigrated to New York from Puerto Rico with their 15 children, none of whom spoke English. My mother being one of those 15 was carried by her oldest sister with no shoes on her feet at the age of 3. Today, I am the first of 60 cousins to graduate with a college degree, and my mother bursts with pride as she calls me her trendsetter, in English.

3.What do you love to cook and why?
Growing up in the Bronx, which for a time was deemed the unhealthiest and impoverished county in the nation, I would teach the importance of my mission with Got Checked? and my “Take Action” Initiative; know your family history to understand the importance of genetic dispositions, self check exams, and screenings recommended by your physician. Early detection saves lives. My parents are examples of that. I want to inspire future generations to do the same.

4.If you had an extra hour each day, what would you do?
I’d be my age, 36. I am a true 80s born, raised in the 90s girl. My favorite movie is the, “The Labyrinth”, and I wish I could spend time with the cast of “Saved By The Bell”. I love singing along to artists like Whitney Houston. As a matter of fact, when my husband and I closed on our home, we drove to our attorney’s office rocking out to “I Wanna Dance with Somebody”.

5.Describe the dirtiest job you have ever had to do?
Simply, an amazing dinner out with my husband! Rounding out our night is making it home in time to kiss our babies good night, then curling up next to him on the couch streaming a movie, that I might fall asleep to, sounds perfect. As a homemaker, mother of two children, ages 3 and 1, and dog mom to an 84 pound brindle Terrier-mix, I’ve learned to appreciate a dinner out filled with great conversation.
